Mini Crab Bites

Need a quick and elegant hors d’oeuvres? These mini crab bites fit the bill perfectly!

12 mini English muffins split or 24 snack-size rye or pumpernickel bread squares
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
8 oz. crab, shredded (drained-canned or artificial)
2 Tbsp. chopped fresh parsley
1 tsp. Chili Bob's Garlic Lovers Gourmet Seasoning
1 tsp. Chili Bob's Island Fever Powdered Hot Sauce

Toast muffins or bread squares. Blend remaining ingredients together. Place on muffins or bread and bake at 400 degrees until they begin to brown (5-10 minutes.)  Makes 24 appetizers.

Spicy Crab Cheese Ball

2 8 oz. packages of cream cheese
1 cup minced crab meat (real or artificial)
1 cup finely shredded cheddar cheese
1 to 2 Tbsp. Chili Bob's Island Fever Powdered Hot Sauce
1/2 Tbsp. Chili Bob's Onion Lovers Gourmet Seasoning
1/2 tsp. Chili Bob's Garlic Lovers Gourmet Seasoning
1 cup chopped walnuts

Blend all ingredients except nuts in a large mixing bowl. Form into a ball and roll in chopped nuts until coated. Place on plate and serve chilled with crackers. For real heat lovers, substitute walnuts with chopped Planter’s Spicy Hot Peanuts.

Cheesy Garlic Spread

2 cups finely shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup shredded parmesan cheese (not powdered)
3/4 cup mayonnaise
2 Tbsp. milk.
1 1/2 Tbsp. Chili Bob's Garlic Lovers Gourmet Seasoning
1 loaf french bread cut into 1” thick slices

Blend all ingredients except for the bread. Spread 1 to 2 Tbsp. of the cheese mixture on each slice of bread. Put on a cookie sheet and place under a broiler until the cheese melts and is slightly browned. OPTIONAL; Sprinkle Chili Bob's Island Fever Powdered Hot Sauce or Chili Bob's Pepper Lovers Gourmet Seasoning on each slice before broiling.

Chili Bob Party Mix

This is a great, easy to fix, change from the normal party mix and can be made in minutes in the microwave!

6 Tbsp. melted butter or margarine (sorry, low fat or no fat won’t work!)
1 1/2 Tbsp. of any Chili Bob’s Gourmet Seasoning (Onion, Pepper or Garlic Lovers or Island Fever Powdered Hot Sauce)
8 cups of your favorite “Chex” type cereal
1 cup small Frito’s corn chips
1 cup peanuts or oriental chop suey noodles

Combine margarine and seasonings, blend well. In a two gallon zip lock bag, add cereal, corn chips and peanuts/chop suey noodles. Pour margarine mixture over the cereal mixture inside the plastic bag. Seal top of the bag securely. Shake the bag until all pieces are evenly coated. Pour contents into a large microwave-safe bowl. Microwave uncovered on High for 4-6 minutes, stirring thoroughly every 2 minutes.*** While stirring, make sure to scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl. Spread on paper towels to cool. Store in an airtight container.
***Cooking times may need to be adjusted due to differences in microwave ovens.

7 Layer Mexican Dip

This looks like a lot of work but it is really quite easy to make.

Layer #1 (bottom layer)

1 can refried beans
1/2 Tbsp. Chili Bob's Pepper Lovers Gourmet Seasoning

Layer #2

3 medium, ripe avocados, peeled and seeded
1/4 cup mayonnaise
2 Tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 Tbsp. Chili Bob's Garlic Lovers Gourmet Seasoning

Layer #3

1 jar Chili Bob’s “Ohio’s Best!” Salsa (mild, medium or hot)

Layer #4

1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 Tbsp. Chili Bob's Island Fever Powdered Hot Sauce
1/2 Tbsp. Chili Bob's Onion Lovers Seasoning

Layer #5

One 3 1/2 oz. can of chopped ripe olives - drained

Layer #6

2 cups shredded co-jack cheese

Layer #7

1 cup jalapeno slices
1 large bag of tortilla chips or box of snack crackers


 

  1. Spread beans in a 9”x11” glass dish or pan. Sprinkle on a liberal amount of Chili Bob’s Pepper Lovers Gourmet Seasoning.
  2. Mash avocados and blend well with the mayonnaise, lemon juice and Chili Bob's Garlic Lovers and Chili Bob's Onion Lovers Gourmet Seasoning. Spread over layer #2.
  3. Spread salsa over avocado mixture.
  4. Blend sour cream, mayonnaise and Island Fever. Spread sour cream mixture over salsa and sprinkle with Chili Bob's Onion Lovers Gourmet Seasoning.
  5. Spread olives over sour cream layer.
  6. Cover with shredded cheese.
  7. Cover cheese with jalapeno slices. Chill before serving. Serve with tortilla chips or snack crackers.

Black Bean Salsa

This is real quick and easy to make when guests show up unexpectedly!

1 jar Chili Bob’s “Ohio’s Best!” Salsa
1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
1 small can whole kernel corn, drained
1/2 cup chopped onions

Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and serve with corn chips or crackers. This is also great served on nacho chips & cheese or egg omelets!

Chili Bob’s Salsa Fire Balls

These meatballs will be the hit of any party or get together! Also great over noodles or rice.

1/2 bag of Gordon Food Service frozen meat balls
(1/2 oz. 180-200 per bag)
1 jar Chili Bob’s “Ohio’s Best! Hot Salsa
1 cup Hellmann’s Mayonnaise
1/2 cup brown sugar

Thaw the meatballs per directions on the package. Place meat balls in a crock pot. Mix salsa and other ingredients thoroughly. Pour over meat balls and heat on high till hot. Enjoy!!
